The all new: iTunes 5

Tut. Im a bit dissapointed. The new iTunes 5 is a bit...Windows!! Noooo!!!

Anyway, i made a folder, and put my smart playlists in them, hoping that the folder would be on iPod (like another step in the Playlist Menu). They dont. How exactly do i get them out of there??

hey, apple finally got rid of the brushed metal look. it's more in line with Tiger's smooth metal look and feel... that alone is worth celebrating.... (now they just have to get rid of the brushed metal in iphoto and safari and i'll be happy.)

PLUS, the time display is MUCH better now. it's more like the ipod's display. it shows BOTH time played and time remaining and has that diamond which you can use to scrub through the song.

scrolling through songs before was fast but now it seems to be super fast.

you can set itunes to automatically import a CD when you insert it and also set it to import and eject. that makes importing your CD collection easier and faster.

they added a new search bar (edit>show search bar)

it also seems like they added more 'view options'

scrolling through songs before was fast but now it seems to be super fast.

Wow. Thats real slow macmatt. I got it from Apple.co.uk
A few seconds on a 2MB connection. Maybe its quicker from the UK site.

Anyways, i must eat my words.
After playing with the new iTunes....it aint that bad. Still abit different. ****, i called the iPod Nano a skinny slap of....well....lets keep it clean. But im on the order site right now!

I wasn't expecting more than a phone today. So a little unprepared for new iPods and iTunes. Once more....it aint that bad.

I downloaded and installed it but didn't get chance to play with it yet. Had to go to work and now that I'm here, I'm dying to get home and play with it.

Then I saw that QT 7.0.2 is out and so I got another thing to download and install.

I, like many others, wanted the folder organization for the play lists. The stuff I get the the iTMS I make play lists called, for example, Happy Tunz 1,2,3,etc. With the folders, I can finally put them into one folder and reduce the amount of scrolling for the playlists. I am happy. 🙂

Quote: seems to work great here. syncing seems exactly the same as it did in 4.9

scrolling seems faster and there seems to be a quicker response in playing songs (when you double click on a song to play it, it starts immediately, no delay whatsoever)

Thanks John -- How about the iCal syncing? Are you using it? I was having problems with a recurring event showing up every day instead of once a week.

Arg! I'm a second user on my housemate's computer and don't have admin rights to the machine. He's just installed iTunes 5, and it works fine for him, but on my login it's lost my library! Arg! What am I going to do?
Thankfully it looks like all the files are still there, and for some reason it hasn't actually synced the empty library to my iPod yet, but has anyone any ideas how I can get my playcounts, ratings and playlists back?
