Canon MX700 Error Code 6000

It seems to me I got a lemon Canon, which if I don't see any indication how to fix, I'll have to take it in to repair. It gives me an error code 6000 each time I try to turn it on, even when it isn't hooked up to my Mac. Any idea what is causing it?

The 6000 code indicates a paper feed error. If this is occurring at power on, then there could be something jamming the paper feed sensor or a broken/mis-aligned gear cam in the paper feed assembly. Unless you can see something obvious in the paper feed area, like a scrap of paper, then it looks like a return will be required.
