iphone not charging

Does anybody have a problem with thier iphone not charging? Because mine doesn't seem like it charging sometime. I try the outlet in my living room it won't charge and I tried everyelse but it only charges in my room or when I plug in my laptop. Should I give apple a call or what would you suggest I should do? Does anyone out there have the same problem as I do?

No its not. I try some other outlet some where else but it still won't charge. It is not connected to a switch or anything. There a certain outlet that it charge or I plug it in my notebook. I went to my friend house and try some outlet in his room and his livingroom they both won't charge but it charge in the kitchen. Can someone please explain why or what is the best solution. Thank you

I am having a similar problem. My iPhone charges via usb on both my MacBook Pro and my G5 but will not charge using the adapter. I took my phone to the Genius Bar and they exchanged out my adapter. It worked at the Apple Store. I purchased a car charger. I used it on the way home. It work perfectly in the car. When I got home, the new adapter would not work in any outlet.

To test the adapter, I got the cable from the car charger and plugged it into the new adapter. It worked initially, but would not work when switched to a different outlet or even the initial outlet. The outlets work with all other appliances as well as my iPod Nano charging cable. I believe there is something wrong with how the iPhone is sensing the current...

This is BS. I am traveling to northern california (the home of Apple) and I cannot get my new iPhone to charge. I have tried multiple cables in multiple outlets and nothing is working. I have used this cable for the past few weeks in my apt with zero problems and now I cannot even get it to recognize the connection on one of 5 different outlets in my hotel room. My buddy also has a cable and that is not working. So frustrating to lay this kind of cash out on a phone only to learn that it works when it wants to.

If you have a laptop or a computer available you may be able to charge it from the USB port on it for a temporary fix. It was the only way I could charge my phone. This problem occurred when I was traveling also. When you get a chance, call Apple and arrange to take your phone in to an Apple Store to swap it out for a new one. Taking it in is the fastest way to get a working phone.

So im having a similar issue. Ive had my phone from day one a month ago, never had a problem with it charging. Then yesterday i updated to 2.02 and now my phone is behaving rather strange.

First i had it plugged in via the usb port while i was doing the update and i noticed the battery going down. I thought this was odd so i plugged it out after the update and then back in. It took at least two hours to fully charge back up. After this i left it plugged into the laptop and the battery never drained. (I have the 3g turned off btw) When i decided to go to sleep last night, around 2, it was still plugged in and fully charged. I closed the laptop and left it plugged in. When i woke up at 8 i am seeing less than 20% battery life. What gives?

This is just one of the many frustrating issues that I and apparantly a whole host of people are having. For the record here are my other issues:
1. Dropped Calls (nightmare)
2. Battery drained very fast (have to turn off 3g, wifi, other features, remind me why i bought the phone in the first place)
3. Email stuck in perpetual connecting (had to reset the phone to get that to stop)
4. Very very slow response when trying to access contacts (I have 600+ contacts, but that shouldnt matter, especially since i barely have less than a gig of music on the phone and now movies or games)

Im heading to the apple store today because even though i bought it at at&t those guys will be of no help i am sure.

If anyone can help that would be great. And apple, I have been a loyal customer since 1984, after 24years of loyalty i have come to expect a better product and not these lackluster excuses. Remember when you made the commercial of "the man"? It seems you are turning into that same person. If you have to recall the phones and lose a bit of profit to keep you customers happy, i suggest you do. I dont want to return the phone, but I had far less issues with my blackberry and if it means going back to have a stable product. I will. And i will certainly make sure to tell everyone. And trust me, word of mouth if far worse than an ad with two guys going at it and one guy made to look like an idiot and the other this self righteous, self proclaimed healer of the universe.

Get it together apple.

My iPhone suddenly started not charging too. I have the original one, and it has always charged up nicely from the USB port on my MBP. But even though the lightning bolt symbol shows when I connect it, and iTunes recognises that the phone is plugged in, the battery is not charging--the battery graphic shows a tiny red amount of charge. I have tried all 3 USB ports on my MBP. I have checked for dirty ports. I have tried the dock to charge it. My MBP is not asleep. What is going on here?

I am now updating to 2.1, see if that does anything.
