ipod frozen on "connected eject before disconnecting"

i plugged my ipod into the computer and it wouldn't show up on itunes. it just says it dectects an ipod that's corrupted. what do i do?
i have the ipod disconnected now and it's still frozen on the screen?

Did you try resetting it?
Slide the hold switch from OFF to ON back to OFF then immediately hold down BOTH the center and Menu buttons for a good 15-30 seconds or until it restarts with the Apple logo.
Resetting isn't always effective once and you may need to retry it several times to get it to work.
