Panic message

My computer won't boot up until after several attempts. Sometimes it gives me a message that reads, "System Failure: cpu=0; code-00000001 (corrupt stack)"...The final line reads, "panic: we are hanging here..."

When it does complete the startup procedure I get a screen that says, "The computer was restarted after Mac OS quit unexpectedly." Once I get passed this screen the computer works fine.

Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Yogi

Try starting while holding the SHIFT key down, If it starts normally, don;t use the computer yet. Rather, restart again in the normal fashion and report if things get better.

Here is a very good article on the subject:

Also refer to that site's index page here:

and review the articles on maintenance and freeing disk space.

Hey not sure if you have tried these yet but Check to see if there is a bad Memory Stick pull them out try booting with each stick and see if this a way to rule out your problem.

if problems continue you could also do a PRAM Reset see if this resets and Corrects the problem Link is here if you have never done a Reset
