In iCal > Preferences > General there's an option to Show Birthdays calendar which automatically adds all birthdays in Address Book to iCal.

Address Book, however, also has an anniversary field. Is there any trick to get those dates to automatically appear in iCal too?

    Hi Zach,

Dates To iCal 2 enables this.

Dates to iCal 2 - A replacement for Apple's birthday calendar for iCal in Leopard.

As well as automatically syncing birthday dates from Address Book, Dates to iCal 2 can sync anniversary and custom dates. It can set up to five alarms for each date in iCal and can also set different alarms for birthdays and anniversaries. It allows the option of only syncing from one Address Book group. This application also allows for the titles of the events sent to iCal to be modified to the user's preference.

    Dates to iCal is shareware.

    Best wishes

Thanks John. I gave the demo a shot, choosing just to sync anniversaries as birthdays are already syncing via iCal. Unfortunately Dates to iCal 2 ended up syncing birthdays as well.

And on dates where there are multiple anniversaries, they keep alternating which one is on top in iCal's Month view too.

    Hi Zach,

There is a preference in Dates to iCal to allow you not to show birthdays. Alternatively you can turn the birthdays calendar off in iCal's preferences.

The ordering of events in iCal is controlled by iCal and there is nothing Dates to iCal does to change it.

    Best wishes
