How to adjust the color on a webcam for recording?

My webcam picture in QuickTime is very colorless and yellow, is there a way to adjust the video's color/contrast settings?

I'm using the Logitech QuickCam Vision MP for Mac (i.e. it shouldn't have this problem).

MacPro 2.66 GHz, 3 GB RAM, Mac OS X (10.5), QuickTime Pro 7.5.0

"(which is a webcam FOR Mac, so it SHOULD be)."

Not exactly. Just because it says that does not mean it is compatible. +Make sure the web cam is compatible w/your _*current OS system+*_ which your system info confirms is just OS 10.5. Maybe you need to update your OS and/or update the drivers of your web cam if applicable.

It's also possible the web cam is not compatible w/Leopard but will work in Tiger.

My prefs weren't updated - I am completely up to date. This is the Logitech QuickCam Vision MP for Mac. The cam requires 10.4.11 or higher. There is no software and no drivers available for the webcam. I have tried various USB ports with the same result.

The cam works, it's just very yellow in tint.

Yes, the room light is yellow, most incandescent room light is yellow, but my previous webcam and my digital camera under the exact same conditions don't show that tint.

Here's a picture taken with my digital camera and my webcam in the exact same room and lighting to illustrate the point.

So, I'm guessing (since no one has actually answered my question) is: I cannot change the color/tint/contrast on a webcam recording live. Is there another program that can do it?

I know you can do it if you export, but the preview pic is about 1/4th the size and doesn't give a very good perception.

Not sure if this is what you need but you may wish to check out iChatUSBCam. The manufacturer’s website also has a free demo of its product & a complete list of USB webcams compatible w/macs & its product.

If no one else chimes in here, you may wish to check VersionTracker, MacUpdate and/or do a Google search for exactly what you need to resolve your yellowish issue.

This program can do what you want and more...
iGlasses:

I have idea if your camera will work with iGlasses.

You could email them and ask.

I use it with my iSight camera and it's great!!! There's a life time of updates/upgrades. I've been using this program for about fours now. I just received today an update. (Many updates/upgrades in the last few years.)
