iBook Clamshell won't output to TV

I've just bought the AV Cable for my iBook (FireWire) in hopes of connecting it to my television. However, after connecting the three (Yellow (Video), White (Mono L), and Red (Mono R)) cables to the composite inputs of my television, nothing happens at all. The TV doesn't recognize any input at all and stays completely black. I'm wondering if there is something I have to do in Mac OS X before I can output video/audio to my TV. The TV is a SONY Bravia KDL-32S2400. Hope someone can help, thanks!

I bought in on eBay, the seller claimed it to be new, here are two pictures of it: http://img.skitch.com/20080628-j8xh4du62c626nh8hnbc6eej6q.png, and http://img.skitch.com/20080628-empstddt7jgwjdch8ip9ypyx9d.png

Here is the page with the eBay listing: http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=350063887771&ssPageName=S TRK:MEWN:IT&ih=022

As for the display settings, are you referring to the iBook or the TV? Thanks for the help!

Yikes, I'm sorry, I was thinking you were trying to use component cables. What you have is indeed the composite type, which is the same as RCA type, which is the same as the yellow, red, and white type, so the way you're hooking them up is correct.
I did read somewhere else on the forum that someone had to change something in their display settings, something along the lines of turning on "TV Out". (I know that my iPod video has such a setting.) I would check my iBook right now and find it for you but it's HD died JUST LAST %&*$@! NIGHT. 😟 Anyway, try the display settings. Best of luck!
