Error Message

I tried to open a powerpoint attachment on my computer and it froze. Ever since then when ever I try to sync I get the error message "Cant sync contacts to the iphone because the sync server failed to sync the iphone." The music sync's but contacts and ical wont. I reset sync settings, I restored the iphone, still the same message. Anyone got any idea's?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.4.11), 2.4 GHz intel; 4 Gb DDR2 SDRAM

Can you provide the exact message?

Are you syncing with Entourage? Try disabling that and see if the syncing goes through.

No I'm not using Entourage, just Mail and iCal. The exact message is

"iTunes could not sync contacts to the iPhone "iPhone" because the sync server failed to sync the iphone".

I also got the same message with iCal when I unchecked 'Sync address book contacts' under the info tab in itunes.

Have you reset the sync history?

Quit iTunes
Open the iSync application
Choose iSync menu > Preferences, and then click the Reset Sync History button.

Then try the sync again.

I tried resetting sync history and I did a full iphone restore, no difference.

Just in case anyone else has this problem, I went to:
home folder/application support/SyncServices/Local/clientdata/ deleted all the folders in there and it worked again.
