time machine and time capsule not compatible

Dear Mac-friends!
A strange thing has happened. For two weeks I have been using my time capsule in combination with time machine without a flaw.
But since this weekend, time machine cant connect to my time capsule any more. Connecting with finder is still possible.
I tried to download a software update, but cant install that. When I try it states that I need mac osx 10.5.2. mininum. I run macosx 10.5.3 however, so i should be possible.

In other words:
Did anybody encounter the same problems with time machine or with the software update?
And/or does anybody have a solution?

Connecting with finder is still possible.

OK, you can connect through Finder, now find a file called zazaf's Mac_001234567890.sparsebundle on TC. Double-click to mount it. Does Finder report any problem?

Through finder i located the sparsebundle file and deleted it. After that time machine worked again! At least uptillnow. It's making the first backup again... Hopefully without a problem.

I saw other people in this forum complaining about similar things. Just to be helpful:

Deleting the sparsebundle file on the time capsule (via finder) did the trick for me!

I've had similar problems, with a hard drive connected to an Airport Extreme (essentially same setup as Time Capsule). I eventually found I was creating these problem. If you change any settings relating the disk, i.e. rename the disk, change access permissions etc, Time Machine can no longer connect to the disk. You can get Time Machine to recognise the disk again if you open TM preference and select the Change Disk option. You might have to mount the disk in finder for TM to find it. But once you reselect the disk TM will work again.

I am not saying that you did change any options, but I did this in the past not realising the consequences.
