also my istat pro say the health is 12% is health something that cannot be improved? aka am i screwed or can i nurse this baby back to health?

got my mac book in February 2007. gotta admit i don't calibrate or drain it properly. what else can cause battery sickness like this?

Yes, this battery is shot.

The full charge capacity should be around 5,500 or so. Yours is 693.

It's time for a new battery. However, since your cycle count is lower than 300, if you take this to an Apple store and show a genius, they might replace it free of charge. Apple usually replaces batteries that don't hold a charge if their cycle count is less than 300.
