Digidesign M box 2 mini with Garageband (I'm very -very- new)
I just got a degidesign mBox 2 mini and a bluebird condenser mic. I want to use it with Garageband, but I have no idea how to set any of it up. I've followed the setup instructions that come with the mBox, but the LED light doesn't turn on so no power goes to the mBox. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I had a dell laptop a year ago that I plugged all of this equipment into and the LED turned on. Shouldn't this sort of thing be simple? I just want to record with decent quality. No mixing, editing or anything else. I want a really simple recording that can go straight to a CD like Garageband to iTunes. Thanks for the help.
Your macbook has two usb ports, I have read reports that some devices will power up from only one of the ports. So try both ports can't hurt. Also make sure you have the macbook plugged in to AC.
Well it's got to be a port, cable or mbox problem. First try a different cable, if it works good, if not then try another usb device that uses buss power if this works check mbox on another computer again using same cable.
If everything works then the macbook isn't supplying enough power and a powered usb hub should do the trick.
I have a macbook and it will power 2.5" external drive so it should be more then enough for a mbox mini.
Try unplugging the USB cable from the Mbox2 Mini
USB port and plugging it back in. If the USB LED still
does not illuminate, shut down the computer, discon-
nect Mbox2 Mini and start the computer. Once the
computer has fully restarted, reconnect Mbox2 Mini.
