Converting Pages document to MS Publisher?

Hi.
This is a bit of a desperation question, and I'm not holding out much hope, but here goes.....
I have iWork '06. Over the past year I have created a somewhat complex training manual in Pages. Now it is press time and eBook conversion time, and I am bumping up hard against some nasty quirks of Pages dealing with PDF.
No matter what means I try to get Pages formatted into PDF, some things just don't come across properly. Even some text in boxes with inset margins. Have tried export, print, save PDF as PS, etc., etc. Have even tried pulling the PS up into Adobe Acrobat Distiller, but...
I have MS Office Publisher 2007, and I wonder whether there is a reasonable way to convert a Pages document into .pub format. It doesn't appear that Pages 2 will do it. Can anyone tell me whether Pages 3 in iWork '08 has more potential? If so, I will happily upgrade.
Really am hoping to avoid having to re-format this entire publication in Publisher, but its PDF capabilities do seem superior.
Thank you for any insights.

I sincerely doubt you'd be able to get your Pages content into Publisher even using Publisher in Windows via Parallels or VMVusion by copy/paste. I certainly haven't been able to go from Publisher to Pages in Parallels.

I'm not sure why you're having so much trouble getting your Pages document to a PDF. If you'd like, send me a zipped/archived copy of your Pages document & I'll see if it behaves differently on my Macs. Click my name in blue next to this post. My public e-mail address is in the biography section. Just replace (AT) with @.

In the meantime, you could download the iWork '08 trial & give it a try. Just in case you decide not to buy iWork '08 after trying it, make sure you save any files in iWork '06 format as well. Otherwise you won't be able to open them in Pages 2.

Thank you, Peggy.
You are correct. Cannot even copy and paste from Pages over into MS Publisher with Parallels. Oddly, I can export from Pages into Word with some success. But subsequently importing the Word.doc into Publisher loses much more of the document.
PDF problem seems somewhat related to having multiple text boxes and other objects on a page. Increasing inset margin, spreading things out, etc. seems to improve things, so I will work with it more. In some cases, the same PDF page that looks okay in Preview gets distorted in Reader.
Thanks again for your response.

Some features available in Pages use MacOS tools which aren' available in other operating systems so they aren't displayed when the user works whith such an OS.

A well known among these feature is the shadow one.
