I have a 80Gb Classic and just a few days ago it was working just fine. I had it on a docking station and it played music all night long. The morning after i take it off the docking station and go to connect it to my computer and all i get it the iPod resetting itself automatically. I tried to reset it myself but it didn't work. So i called support and they told me to restore my iPod in which i did and also made sure i had a back up of all 8801 songs. After the restore and my iPod is back to as if i had just opened it, i connect it to my computer and iTunes does not recognize it at all. I tried to reinstall iTunes and try once more but nothing. Can anyone please help me...I am going crazy without my iPod.
When i was having the problems with it resetting itself, the woman with support had me put it in disc mode, thats how i was able to restore it on the iTunes screen. So are you saying put it back in disc mode?
Thanks for the feedback Vic...Yes i do use the same computer with my iPod always...I manage my music manually adding or deleting just what i want... But i will go ahead and uninstall itunes completely try the re-install and go from there...i will let you know how it goes thanks for the help...i have set up at least 6 iPods on my computer in the last 6 months and never had a single problem, who would have knew mine would go haywire and when it comes to reinstalling mine it would give me these problems lol...thanks again
I am completely puzzled when trying to put music on my Ipod. It tells me that I need a more recent version (7.6) of itunes but when I click "download version 7.6 it simply says "thank you for downloading......." and that's it. Popup blocker is off so why is their nothing after thaat point?
Thanks for all the help Vic, i went to the site you posted and i deleted all the components that were installed with itunes and reinstalled and it worked, my iPod was recognized, i was able to add all of my music back onto it, and i am now listening to my iPod once again. Again thanks for the help.
