It's highly unlikely at this time, as few (if any) LG phones support the industry standard OMA SyncML protocol for syncing.

However, saying that, I've had conversations with LG developers in both Japan and the US and they are looking at incorporating OMA SyncML in future phones. No definitive dates or specific phone models were mentioned, just that they 'hope' to have some kind of syncing available for Mac users sometime 'next year'.

I saw this in another forum, it still won't give you contact sycing but it's getting close.
"Ive had the dare for about a day now and the easiest way i have found to transfer pics/etc...is to sync the two together. put the mac in dicoverable mode, go to settings>bluetooth menu>turn on>add. once the two have found each other put the files u want on the phone open the finder on the mac and drop them into the 'user name'>public>drop box folder.select the mac on the dare then open "browse/get files" select the drop box folder in which u put the files on the mac and they should all transfer over. at least thats how ive been doing it."
PS. My buddy with an iPhone was blown away at the fact I could do video.

I just got and am trying the Dare -- some things are quite good, though still struggling with the touch part of it -- I have an Ipod touch so am for the 'toys' -- and calendar and contacts -- so I would like to say with verizon for the coverage. But am wondering if anyone else is frustrated by the scrolling feature which is not terrific. I can get my mac mail through gmail forwarding so that's neat.

This is great... I got my music on my dare even under the "My Music" Folder on the phone using the method above (Bluetooth Exchange)....

one problem...

theres no way to get it off after you do that.... if you try to delete songs off your phone via Bluetooth Exchange it says "Last Operation Failed Bad Request..."

and of course theres no way to delete them from the phone... that would be too simple (thanks LG)

and since I have a mac....

i cant use the verizon sync program to get them off...

so for now i only have 4 songs on my Dare... but they are on my internal memory... perhaps... eternally.

Please reply if you have any advice...
maybe i missed something ...

As already mentioned, you can use bluetooth file explorer to copy music to a verizon lg dare. As a previous poster mentioned, you do get the error "the last operation failed: bad request." when trying to view the music once it's copied. (I copied mine to /SdMusic/)

It appears that you can only copy DRM-Free music / Purchased ACC audio files

I hope this helps. Trial and error for me with copying the files. If it fails, try the next song. Not the most efficient, but I am not sure how to see only those songs that are DRM-Free.

Does BitPim sync with it's own Calendar and Contacts (etc) interface or can you use it with iCal, Address Book, iTunes, Mail, etc?
It seems like a great phone (LG Dare) but is it really worth getting if I can't sync it with my Mac?

I refuse to go to AT&T...just too expensive. But why would Verizon/LG come out with something that is supposed to be comparable to an iPhone and not have it work with a Mac?!

I've been using bitpim (www.bitpim.org) to sync contacts as well as ringtone, wallpaper, and music transfers. Bluetooth setup is a bit buggy, but can be done. Discourages me a little that it seems to work flawlessly under windows though...

I am trying to connect my Lg Dare to m macbook Pro. I have been looking for tutorials on how to do this, and have not found any. If you can please tell me how to do this, or give me a link, i will very much and forever more appreciate it!!!!

I have discovered that certain characters in the file names hose things. For example &. Others may not work either, but you can test combinations by creating filenames and trying to use the push or pull transefer technique to see which ones fail.

So put you sd card into your mac and rename the files with these pesky characters.

There is a software called BitPim which is open source, ( I think... Don't quote me on that.. ) It's free. And works perfectly with my LG Dare. It is so good it can copy the phones entire OS write off the phone for Backup purposes. Of course as with any of these crazy third part software you can seriously damage and even BRICK the phone so be careful what you do. Go to Versiontracker.com and look it up. You use the standard USB cable that came with the phone. You go to preferences, pick the phone in the list... then under connection you browse for the USB connection that is Not currently used by any system processes. This screen takes a long time to load so be patient. Once selected, your set. You can download all your media, calendar stuff, contacts etc. To add them to Address book, you neet to export them as V-Cards and import them into Address Book. The same is true vice versa.

Hope this Helps
Good Luck!!

Any hope for syncing a "LG Dare" (Verizon)
