Golf Score Hoe by Hole Templates

I'm a newb to numbers. i'm trying to develop a template for tracking my golf scores round by round with various vital statistics such as score, putts, greens in regulation etc.

does anybody have a numbers template that they could share or would like to point me in the right direction for developing one?

thanks.

the jakester,

I don't know how practical this is, but this is what pops into my mind at the moment. The trouble is this represents only one 18 hole round and now that I look at it, it's nothing more than a glorified score card. I'll post the screen shot anyway.

It occurs to me that it may by more useful to create a three tables for each different course played: one for course information, one for green scores and the other for putts. That way you would have a record showing your strong and troublesome holes when you returned to play that course again. Just some ideas to get you thinking about how Numbers may be used in this situation.

pw.

thanks for the screenshot.

i'm not 100% sure this solves my issues, but i will give more thought to and see what else is posted. i'm assuming it has the capaility for multiple rounds entered along with creating columns for more statistics. let me see what else comes forward, but i may ask you for the template so i can work with it a little bit. much thanks.

jakester,

Glad to see you're off to a flaming (sorry, I couldn't resist) start! The thing that makes an application like Numbers appealing to me is that YOU are in control. You start with a good design and you make it evolve into a better spreadsheet as your skills improve and you find features you would like to add or change. At any rate, have a great time, both on the course and at the keyboard.

Jake,

Getting off to a good start is the key to success in most projects. And, the more you want to get out, the more you'll have to put in. To see fairways hit, you'll have to add a check box or some other indication in your log for each hole played. (You'll want to ignore any fairways hit information for par 3 holes.)

Note that both tables in my suggested format have some manually entered data and some calculations. Also, you may want to hide some of the static data on Course Profiles just to keep the layout clean. pw has given you some very helpful programming hints in his suggestion for displaying score vs. par. The rest is pretty straight forward. I don't think I've implied any functions that aren't well within Numbers' capability.

Let us know if you get stuck.

Jerry
