San Jose Airport - SJC Free WiFi on iPhone or iPod Touch?

While waiting for a delayed flight last week I saw a sign touting new free WiFi at Sand Jose Airport (SJC). But, though I could connect with my Touch (4 bars)I could not get out to the internet.

I pulled out my laptop and after a browser redirect to accept terms, it connected ok, but they are using a VPN through AnchorFree that I had to accept. Anyway, no problems on a laptop.

Since they had 24/7 toll free support, I called and they said lots of iPhone and iTouch users had called but so far they had no solution for the iPhone or Touch.

Here is the press release:

Is anybody able to get on sjcfreewifi at SJC with iPhone or iTouch?

I can get wifi access in many other places but this particular infrastructure is causing problems that still seem to be an issue after two months of operation. I get an IP, I am connected, but somehow Safari cannot follow the redirect to accept the terms and use the VPN. Surely someone in Cupertino must have seen this by now?

iPod Touch, Mac OS X (10.5.3)
