using grab or anything else to copy and paste screen shots into MAIL

Using Grab to copy a screen shot into Mail-
All i get is a smaller picture of the screen shot and it can not be read in mail as it looses all definition and is too small .
is there a way one can copy and paste into mail using grab or any other utility?

mac book, Mac OS X (10.5.2)

You can do this using the standard screen capture keyboard shortcuts. cmd-shift-4, for example, let's you select a region of the screen to capture. By default, the results will be saved to your desktop as a png image file.

However, if you also hold down the ctrl key (so, ctrl-cmd-shift-4), the resulting screen capture will be saved to your clipboard. Once in the clipboard, you can simply cmd-v paste it into your mail message...
