Will this RAM work in new iMacs? PC2-5300S-555

I have some old sticks of RAM which I'd like to put into some new iMacs. I can't remember if I got them from previous iMacs or macbooks, but on the sticker it says

1GB 2Rx8 PC2 - 5300S - 555 - 12 - E3

They are Samsung brand. Are these 667 mhz DDR2 SDRAM that's currently in my iMac?

24" iMac 2.8Ghz, Mac OS X (10.5)

The newest 2008 iMac models use 800 MHz RAM - 200-pin PC2-6400 (800MHz) DDR2 SO-DIMMs.

Well when I say 'new' I should mention they aren't the latest 2008 models. According to system profiler they use 667 DDR2 SDRAM.

If they are 2007 models or earlier then the 667 MHz RAM will work.

printed on the RAM label means it's DDR2 667 RAM. I don't want to fry the machine by putting two different pairs of RAM in there.

Well, considering you took it out of another Mac where it worked, then it should work fine. It won't fry anything. If the label says 667 MHz and PC2-5300 then they work in any pre-2008 iMac.

You can only put in one pair as iMacs and laptops only have two slots.

Well for anyone else wondering, yes, RAM labeled

1GB 2Rx8 PC2 - 5300S - 555 - 12 - E3

is DDR2 667mhz RAM.
