deleting a bookmark

deleting a bookmark

I have a macbook pro and have been trying to delete a bookmark with no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Are you using Safari? Go to the Bookmarks and scroll to Show all Bookmarks. Highlight the bookmark you want to delete. Go to edit, and scroll to delete. that should do it.

Hope that helps.

If you are using firefox, go to Bookmarks and then scroll to organize bookmarks. Highlight the bookmark you want to delete and then click on delete . . .

Im using safari and I did what you suggested but it still didnt delete my bookmarks I want to delete 😟 Anything else I can try?

That is very strange,
I just tried it again with Safari-
I went to the top menu bar where it says bookmarks, then scrolled down to the choice on top which says "Show All Bookmarks".

This opened up a window that has all my bookmarks listed. Then you click on the Collections that you are looking for - for me it is Bookmarks Bar, which lists my bookmarks.

Then I clicked on the bookmark I wanted to delete, and it gets highlighted- Then you can click on your delete key, and that should delete your bookmark.

I am not sure why it doesn't work for you. Are you able to get to the window that has all your bookmarks listed?

When I click on my show all bookmarks it shows my browsing history and not my bookmarks 😟 What am I doing wrong? 😟

I am not sure what is going on - i went to the Help on the top menu bar and typed in deleting bookmarks- this is what it says for the Safari Program:

Deleting bookmarks
You can get rid of bookmarks you no longer want.

To delete bookmarks:

Click the open-book icon to view the bookmark list.

The left column shows collections like News and Sports, represented by folders. The right column shows individual bookmarks.

Select any bookmarks or collections you want to get rid of, and press Delete.

If you change your mind, choose Edit > Undo Remove Bookmark.

The bookmarks bar and Bookmarks menu can’t be deleted.

Address Book and Bonjour can’t be deleted, but you can remove them from the list by deselecting them in Bookmark preferences.

History and All RSS Feeds can’t be deleted, but you can delete individual bookmarks within them.

PS - when you get to the page that shows the history, look at the left hand column that says COLLECTIONS - make sure that underneath that heading you have selected either Bookmarks Bar or Bookmarks menu to find your bookmarks. It is possible that you have the History selected . . .

that is my best guess for now . . .
