Typing Double Letters

When I type, double letters often show up... any ideas for a fix?

I thought it was the microsoft keyboard I was using that was just getting old, but I just bought a new aluminum keyboard two days ago, and the problem is still happening... and, I installed the keyboard firmware update, too.

first-gen iMac G5, Mac OS X (10.5.4), 2GB Ram, alum keyboard & mighty mouse

I'm having the exact same thing happen.
Seems it doesn't matter if you've installed the update or not (I haven't because I use Hotapp and the update will kill it).

Any ideas would be appreciated.

I had a thought that it might happen more when my RAM was committed elsewhere; but now that I've got 2GB—and you've got 4—I'm pretty sure it isn't that.

My only other thought of a possible software conflict would be TextExpander (no reason other than speculation)... are you running that?

Well, it's a bit drastic, but it got fixed for me.

My Finder started crashing and restarting every ten seconds or so... couldn't find a fix, and had to go through a complete Erase & Install.

No more double letters, though, knock on wood. If they ever come back, I'll let you know what I installed to make it happen again.
