cannot synchronise large movies (approx. 100MB) to my IPod classic 30 GB

I have an iPod classic 30GB, software version 1.3 and I have following problem: when I try to synchronize larger/longer movies (>10min, approx 100MB) on my iPod, iTunes gives me following error message:
" the video was not copied to "iPod of Mattias" because it cannot be reproduced on this iPod"

I manage to synchronize shorter movies, and my father who has an iPod nano and he succeeds to sync. exactly same movie on his iPod (MPEG4)

Thanks for any help! I have 30 GB memory, I want some movies in there !

First, you don't have a Classic as they have only been made in 80 and 160 gig models. I suspect that you have a 5th gen iPod Video. See this link for help identifying your iPod:

Second, where did these movies come from and what is the file format? The more details you can provide, the better the answers you'll get.

Can you sync any videos at all? You might have an even older iPod than that.

Thanks yes indeed my iPod is a 5th generation 30GB, not an iPod classic sorry that was my fault.
The movies (short and long) have been imported via iPod Video Converter v2.6 or HandBrake 0.9.2. I manage to synchronize the short ones but not the long. As I told you my father on the iPod nano 8GB has no problems synchronizing any of these movies.
The movies are of formats: .wmv , mpeg , .avi all imported to mpeg4 low resolution 320x240.

Why can I not synchronize these big movies ?

Just wanted to add to my message below. The big movies that I try to synchronize on my iPod 5th generation 30GB, are prepared with HandBrake importing from .VOB to MPEG4
