How to reinstall drivers for internal Microphone (Leopard)

My Internal microphone stopped working about the same time I installed Wirecast and Screenflow. Any ideas how I can check that the core audio drivers are installed, or just reinstall them altogether?

I am extremely technical, but not a UNIX guy, so a solid techy answer is welcome.

Hello Danny

Have you run Repair Disk Permissions and Restarted your iMac sense downloading the Vara software?

Then if you still have an audio issue use the Vara FAQ / Support to see if they can help!

Used AppZapper to remove the varasoft apps, did a disk repair and rebooted. No luck. Now I questions whether it was the apps at all. Is there a way to reinstall the hardware drivers for the mic? Or check the files to make sure one is not missing, locked, etc?

Try this. Download onyX (free - just Google it), a kind of clean-up application. Click "automation" and tick all the boxes. Then "Execute". Wait some time (20 mins?) until it's all done. Restart. Your mic may well be operating now - it worked for mine!
