Which is safer... Safari or Firefox?

Hi,

I do use mostly Firefox and recently asked a tech at our work about installing Safari and using it and he basically said that Safari had too many "issues" and I believe he mentioned security as well.

Any thoughts out there from people who might know? (I know zero).
