Grey Bar On TV Watching Pirates of Caribbean Bought From iTunes - WTH?!?!
I bought Pirates of The Caribbean 3 from the iTunes Store, and have transferred it to my iPod video(5G), connecting it to my tv via my composite cable. Problem is(And this has me very angry), I have a VERY obtrusive grey bar sitting at the bottom of the video, making it very difficult to watch anything without focusing on the ****** bar!!
It happens only on the iPod, with the movies I have bought from iTunes, but does not affect any other movie files on said iPod - TV Shows and the stuff I've put on myself are unaffected by the grey bar.
On your iPod's video settings there should be an option for 'Widescreen.'
Is this set to On or Off?
Switch it to the opposite, and retry the purchased videos on your TV.
Problem still occurs on both the iPod screen and on tv via cable, under both Widescreen and 4:3 settings - But even if this were to be an issue with the widescreen option, this seems to be an issue with the download, not the option. So, no, this hasn't helped.
Honestly, I don't think its a download issue now - I've been able to try it on an iPod touch and there's no grey bar there. Now I'm confused as to where the problem lies.
OK - I would move on to trying to reset/restore the iPod at this point, if you haven't already.
Reset:
Ensure the HOLD switch is OFF so that there is NO orange color showing beneath the switch. Then, press and hold the MENU and the SELECT (center) buttons together for about 10 seconds, until you see an Apple logo. When you see the Apple, let go of the buttons and the iPod will restart itself.
