Question

Emulation on a Power PC Mac OS Leopard

Hey everyone,

I want to run Ubuntu and Mac OS 9 on my PowerPC Leopard Machine. I want to run Ubuntu for fun, to explore new regions... and I want to run Mac OS 9 to play Classic games like Backyard Baseball. I need help trying to figure out how to do this...

The easiest would be to get VMWare, and install it with that.

It works fine, although dont expect a blistering speed.

I don't know about Ubuntu, but you can get OS 9 apps running on your machine by creating a separate partition, and installing on it the version of OS X that came with your Mac. Then boot into that partition, and fire up Classic.

MrTAToad,

he has a PowerPC Mac, VMware Fusion only exists for Intel Macs.

Well as the title says I am looking for Emulation to run OS X, OS 9, and Ubuntu _side by side_... so reboot is not what I want to do, and wouldn't that require bootcamp, which is on intel machines only?

I've heard of SheepShaver and Q... but thats all, just heard, installed and got lost...

You have asked for a very difficult thing....

Q runs only on Intel Macs. I have used it to run Puppy Linux - and it is good for what it does.

I don't know about SheepShaver - but it sounds hard! Easier and cheaper to buy an old iMac on ebay IMO...
