Transfer iTunes Library to a new mac
I am purchasing a Macbook Pro with Leopard this week. I currently have a Powerbook 12" with Tiger. I do not plan to firewire the two macs together at initial start up, as is an option, since I know of two friends that did that between PowerPC computers and Intel computers who had issues with the new computer. When these people spoke with AppleCare, they admitted that there are some bugs when you firewire a PowerPC to an Intel machine. My question is...
I still want to move all my iTunes music from the old machine to the new machine. I know I could just import all that music into the new iTunes library from my backup on my external drive, but then I would lose data like play count, song ratings, and playlists. How do I transfer my iTunes library from one computer to the next so that it is identical on the new computer? Thank you.
