Transferring music from iPod to new computer

Okay, so about a year and a half ago, I got a new iPod nano 2 gig as a gift from my dad, and he registered it. I used it on his laptop, and everything was fine. Now though, the laptop is pretty much broken, and I can't transfer my songs from the old iPod to his girlfriend's computer. Her library's empty, but I can't take them from the old iPod. There's a topic about this on the support page, but I think that's depending on having the old computer accessible. I don't know the account my dad used to set the old iPod up, and he's forgotten it. Is there anything I can do?
