Hi everyone... I'm on once more looking for your expert and excellent comments to try and help make up my mind what Speaker system to buy for my existing 5th Generation 80GB iPod and new iPhone 3G (July 11th). I have fallen in love with the B&W Zeppelin and really want to get that as I already have a high end hi-fi system with Rotel Amps and CD player with 603 Series B&W speakers. But a mate of mine has the very excellent Bose SoundDock which is half the price... so I'm finding it hard to make a solid decision. Will I be getting double the system for double the price or seeing that it will only be a bedroom accessory... will I really get to fully experience the difference between system. I'm a lover of low-fi, strings based music... simple vocals etc... (Antony and the Johnsons, David Sylvian, Rufus Wainwright, Thomas Feiner (Anywhen) to name but a few)... review of both system are head for head... always 5 star.. so I just dunno which to get...
I had a similar issue before when purchasing my 30" ACD... compared to the 23" ACD.... the price was quite different... but I went with the 30" and loved my decision... I want to invest for the future here with my proposed new iPod Speaker system... I love design and I love crystal clear sound quality at low levels... which would you GO FOR???
Any comments most welcome...
Yours sincerely,

I've had the Bose and currently have the Zeppelin. (Also have an iPod HiFi which I keep for its portability). I liked the Bose while I had it, but sold it to a friend and moved to the Zeppelin. I have various B&W speakers through my house and love the sound. The Zeppelin is in my bedroom and while the Bose strained with the size of the room, the Zeppelin has no problem with it at all. You'll love the sound with Rufus Wainwright, acoustic guitar sounds amazing, and since I have several different iPods, I love not having to fiddle with dock adaptors.
Hi Deggie...
I decided to go with the Zeppelin... it arrived yesterday... and to be honest it out shone all my expectations... a superb.. superb piece of audio engineering and it looks like nothing I have ever seen... for once someone has exceeded Apple's industrial design.... the sound and build quality are just amazing... I have been listening from everything from Rufus Wainwright / Antony to Kraftwerk on it and it consistently blows me away.... it's like listening to my Rotel/B&W separates system in my living room... but this magical sound is coming from my iPod attached to the black silhouette...
For me it was between the Bose and the Zeppelin... cost was an issue... I had heard the Bose and was very impressed... but I loved the styling of the Zeppelin... and I have B&W speakers already and adore the sound... what I was worried about was that at twice the price, would I get double the sound and build quality.... and to be honest... the Zeppelin knocked all my fears out of the park... it's about 3 times better sound quality and the design and build are in a league of their own...
In the end... I took the leap of faith... I could get to test it here where I live in Cork, Ireland... would have to travel to Dublin... so after reading all the reviews... especially the comments on here... I took the plunge...
A superb system...!!! Superb Sound Quality... and well worth the money... think of it as an investment in your music collection... 🙂
