Exchange Setup/iPhone 2.0

Doesn't seem to be as easy as it looks...I'm probably just missing something small somewhere.

Has anyone had any success in setting it up yet?

Ok this is weird. When I try to set-up untethered, it can't verify account. When I plug in an sync, it says on PC it can't sync mail because account is in use. When I unplug, IP tells me that the account may not be able to get mail, do I want to set up anyway? I say yes. then it keeps telling me my password is incorrect (which it isn't!). Stuck now!

No!!!

I've tried EVERYTHING. I've set up many smartphones with activesync, and the problem is usually self-generated SSL certs. I've tried with SSL disabled and the ports open and the virtual dir to allow non-SSL; I've tried using the iPhone configuration utility to install the cert; I've tried the old NT username domain\username, the new way username@domain.local, just username, I've tried just about everything to no avail.

Oddly, the account verifies just fine. It won't sync anything and attempted outgoing mails fail and it just says "an error occurred."

That's basically the issue I'm having...I think there's some specific way that the email address and server info have to be entered to make it connect. Here's how I'm entering stuff...

email: bpearl@mycompany.com
server: mail.mycompany.com
username: Mycompanydomain\bpearl
password: mypassword

seems pretty straight ahead to me, but it's not working.

Update: Got my exchange e-mail up and running fine now. I probably couldn't replicate the steps, but at some point it kept asking me over and over for my password, which I kept entering and entering. Eventually, I locked myself out of the network (via my phone, so I know it was communicating. Got back in, CHANGED MY NETWORK PASSWORD. Note on that: my password at the time had a space in it and I suspected that may have been freaking the iP out. I changed it to a new one with now space and Voila! All is working fine now - seeing my e-mails and all all folders.

Note too, that your network admin may need to authorize you on the back-end for mobile mail. I had already been set-up on the network due to prior use of Pocket PC.
