Remote stopped working

Please help, my remote no longer works with my Apple TV.. the battery is fine I checked it. Any thoughts on how to unpair the rempote? or anything else that might work to get my Apple TV working again... I did reboot it... no joy.

Found the unlock on the Apple site. Manual what manual. If anyone else needs the unlock... hold the reverse button and the menu button for about 6 seconds... aiming at the unit in question of course.

my bad it's page 23 and 24 in the (manual) marked that way in the link i gave
was in papir form in my box too
