Having problems with the 5th Gen Ipod

I recently got a brand new ipod video -30g- from the Apple store, When i select certain songs to listen to on the ipod, my ipod restarts itself, and it does this on quite a few songs. The ipod is 2 days old and i have done nothing and it has not been damaged for it to be doing this. The songs are not pirated or downloaded songs. The songs are from original store bought cd's. Can anyone tell me what's going on?

Compaq, Windows Vista

Yes, my ipod was a replacement of my old ipod that crashed. Im not sure if it can be the usb cord, or my computer that does it, but im going over to a friends house tomorrow with the same cd and try putting them on my ipod through his computer. If it does the same, then it might be the cd's that have the corrupt songs, but i doubt it because cd's are in good condition. And its not just one cd, its quite a few that does this..
