ipod Touch not synching with 7.7

All,

I just installed itunes 7.7. It runs just fine until I plug in my iPod Touch. And then it locks up. No synching occurs. The Windows Task manager indicates that itunes is taking up a ton of CPU - consistently at 40% or greated. But no synching and itunes on my laptop doesn't respond. I've had to terminate the process several times. There seem to be similar problems on the Mac OS side of things so hopefully this can get addressed soon. Either that, or I'll need to figure out how to rollback.

I just worked my way through the AMD fix - all the way through completely uninstalling itunes and amd and then re-installing. When I plugged my ipod in, I got the little pop-up indicating new USB device and then a second pop-up from AMD stating that the driver was installed correctly.

But, iTunes is still hanging with the ipod. No synching, no nothing.

Just as a note from following one of the other threads, I closed Outlook before starting the process.

I'll keep following the other threads to see what pops up. But, at the moment, my poor ipod is isolated from the mothership.
