How do I get my earphones to work ?

On my G4 Quicksilver ?
I Select Volume in preferences and select:USB Audio.
The message below says:"The selected device has no output controls".

What does that mean and how to I correct it ? Thanks.

G4 Quicksilver, Mac OS X (10.3.x)

"What kind of headphones are these? The standard kind with the jack plug or some USB thing?"

Turtle Beach USB PC and Console Headphones.

"You also need to tell it where to output the sound, in the output menu feature. On mine it says headphones on built in audio port"

I Select Volume in preferences and select:USB Audio.

Although it says for Mac too on the website there is no information about how to install or configure the setup or even what OS is required. I even looked on the downloadable manual. Also it doesn't look like it plugs into a USB port but instead has its own card. There's really very little to go on. Are you indeed running this off a card and does the manual say anything about OS requirements? Is there any software included?

No, it has a USB connector. It plugs into a USB port.

I have to find the manual.

"Is there any software included?"

No. I looked on the web site and it doesn't say anything about software.

Sorry but I can't make a connection between what you are describing and what the manufacturer has on their website (which is very little). If I go to their page for the model number you provide I can't see anything about a USB plug, not even in their pictures.

Usually it is recommended you go to the third party manufacturer for assistance with third party items unless there is pretty good evidence that it is an OS issue. One reason for this is while all on the forum are running Macs, you have to kind of take you chance on somebody else here using the third party products. I can try to help if I can find the information on a website but that doesn't seem to be the case here so hopefully somebody else will see this who can identify the headphones you have.
