I have found a problem where songs are being truncated on iTunes. I have only noticed the problem for songs that I import. I hate to think I have to go back and reimport just the songs that are truncated / shortened. Any ideas on how to fix?

I need help with this also. It seems as if I import from burned CDs, I get only a portion of the song.
I am having similar problems for imported songs. When I play a particular song using Windows Media Player it displays the song as 4:19 minutes in duration. Yet the same song imported to iTunes only reports it as 3:15 and that's all it plays back. And of course this truncated version gets loaded to the iPod.
I too am having this problem. When I import a song off of a cd, it imports the whole album but every song is truncated. They songs are, on average, truncated down to 20 seconds for every song. This happens on with every cd import. I am running WindowsXP Professional, Itunes 4.9.0.17, CD/DVD Drive Combo.
Well, same thing is happening to me with one difference, it's not only happening to song imported off CD's, but to albums I have bought on ITMS. It's all happened since I upgraded to the latest version of iTunes. I'll say I am definitely NOT impressed by Apple about this. Now I have paid for music their own software has just broken... I'd say this is simply unacceptable.
I am having the same problem.
does anyone know if there is some way to identify when itunes truncates a song without going thru each one, one by one?

I have only found the first song on imported CD's to be truncated about 75% of the time. I just watch to see if the first song down loads at a normal rate with a time remaining countdown. If it skips ahead I just uncheck all other songs and re import the first song again which always works fine. But it is annoying to have to go to the Library list to check song times to avoid truncated songs. So, Is there a solution?
I have sent an email to Apple about this matter and I'm hoping they will be responding very soon. I'll see if we can find a way to prevent this or if there is an upcoming fix and I'll post an update on the situation has I get more information myself. Let's keep hoping for now... 😟
Well, here I am again! Apple ended up putting back the music I bought in my Shopping Cart so I can re-download a fresh copy. I re-synchronized my 3G 10GB iPod with iTunes 5.0.1. All was well, for the few last days... until this morning. I got myself a new CD last night and decided to upload it in my iPod to listen to it while at work. What is my big surprise again this morning? My puchased music got once again truncated to ****. I had bought Porcupine Tree - Deadwing from ITMS. The first song is more than 9 minutes long. Now, it's a wonderful 28 seconds in my iPod. It is clear that there is a MAJOR issue there with iTunes 5.0.1. I will be sending yet another email to Apple and make sure they fix what they have done. I'll keep you all updated on the issue as more info comes along.
