789:57:13 Listed as the Time in ITumes

I have been having an intermittent problem with importing songs. I do NOT receive any error message, but the time listed for some of the songs is 789:57:13 instead of the normal (for example) 4:54 or whatever the song length is. It appears to only be happening with songs imported as AAC audio files, but some of the files on a cd will import and play correctly, but some do not. This appears to be happening since I downloaded and installed updates to both my IPOD and ITunes.

I have also noticed that this is happening to all of the cds I am importing and it is affecting every other track, not all of them.

Any assistance would be so appreciated - I think it might be related to updating the ipod, but I don't want to do anything until I have more information.

thank you

I am having the exact same problem but it doesn't have anything to do with the Ipod update, because I had to send my ipod in to be repaired so it must be a problem with iTunes,, I haven't tried to re0rip the songs yet but I am going to, I will let you know what happens. Does anyone from Apple answer these questions or do they just leave it up to us?

they appear (from what I have been able to tell on this site) to leave it to us. I am not sure whether the problem is with iTunes or the iPod, but this is the MOST painful computer issue I have had in years. I have uninstalled and reinstalled until I want to scream, but nothing seems to help. Next, I am going to uninstall (again) and maybe install the original software. There are several posts across many discussions that the problem may be the iTunes 5.0 release.

I also have the same problem. In iTunes 4.9, alternate imported tracks listed the time as "Not Available" and would not play. In 5.0, the same error occurs, but time is now "789:57:13".

The problem did not occur until I upgraded to 4.9. There are no problems with the CDs, which play normally. The problem occurs with both my CD drives. I have run CD diagnostics and found no problems.

I am using Windows XP SP2 and iTunes 5.0.1.4.

As far as I can tell, this problem has been posted several times in different forms since the release of iTunes 4.9 and no-one has resolved it. Any chance of some help from Apple?

Thank you Richard Green4. I've had this 789:57:13 problem ever since I downloaded iTunes 6 when it was first relased. Unchecking the error correction worked for me and I can finally load my new music. I had called Apple support and the support rep pretty much laughed at me. It really ***** that Apple won't/can't support their defective products.

Are you kiddin me? Apple doesnt give a rats you know where about any of their customers. Oh....and just to let you all know, when you send in your ipod to be fixed.....they dont really "fix" it. So you'll always have problems.

As for this working with my iTunes, mine for some reason did NOT work. I imported the Cd with and without the error thing. If anybody is experiencing my problem, and has a solution, please contact me!
