I have upgraded to iTunes 7.7 and since I have every time I plug my iPod Touch in to sync I get the message "iTunes was unable to load provider data from Sync Services. Reconnect or try again later".
Has any one seen this? Also in the iPod info tab I now have no options in any of the dropdowns...
I am also having this problem on Windows XP SP3, with an iPhone 8gig model# A1203 and iTunes 7.7.0.43. In my case, the error occurs after a long pause as iTunes is supposed to be recognizing the phone. After I hit "okay" in the error dialog, iTunes recognizes the phone and the sync begins, although much more slowly than usual.
I'm having this same problem. I ran diagnostics but everything is supposedly running fine. But all I get is the error message you mentioned. I've tried several of the fixes discussed on this forum...no luck.
How long is it going to take for Apple to fix this? This bug should have been caught.
Yep I probably should have mentioned but I'm running XP SP3 too on a 32gb touch. An SP3 issue? I don't have outlook installed so I've always synced with windows address book previously.
I had this same problem and this is what i did. i completely uninstalled itunes 7.7 and installed a previous version 7.6. when you do this it will say that it cant be done becausea file was updated with a newer version.
this is where it gets tricky , i always back up my itunes on a external hd so i have the files before i updated. you go into your itunes folder and you'll see a file called library.itl, thats where all the information for your songs are in itunes. deleting this does not erase your actually music but does take everything out of itunes. you want to take your backed up version you have and replace it with the one in the folder. i would save a copy of it just incase. once thats done just start it up and it should be reverted. remember this file is based on what was saved before so you might have to add things back to itunes. now just upgrade like normal and there you go. thats how i did it i hope it helps.
Thanks for your reply. I have rolled back to 7.6 but I would still like to use 7.7 without this error. Maybe I'll have to wait for a bug fixed version?
Also - My outlook subfolders also use to appear as contact groups and now they don't appear. I am not able to choose "outlook" from dropdown bar, nothing appears. Sometimes there is a "configure" button, sometimes not. This all use to work fine until I upgraded.
I am using Vista and having the same problem and error message with 7.7. It is not able to sync the new applications either. I don't know how to do the back-up that the guy above is suggesting. Anyone want to tell me how to do that?
We're getting the error here as well. We're actually getting this on a 2G phone after upgrading to the 2.0 software. Has anyone phoned AT&T Apple Support on this? Wondering what they are giving for an answer or a workaround.
Has anyone gotten any useful info on this yet? I'm on a MacBook Pro running Parallels and Outlook 2007. I sync my iPhone through Windows iTunes so I can have all the Outlook data in my phone. All was great until Friday night when I ungrades to iTunes 7.7 and iPhone 2.0. Now when I open iTunes I get the dreaded "iTunes is unable to load provider data from Sync Services..." If I click on OK, it will allow me to sync music, photos and new apps, but under the Info tab, it doesn't list Outlook in the dropdown boxes and MobileMe crashes when I go to the Sync tab and click on the Contacts box. Any help getting iTunes (Windows) to see Outlook will be appreciated.
Also, anyone have new Calendar options appear not only in Outlook but also on their iPhone? I now have Calendar, Home, and Outlook Calendar. The Calendar has my day to day items, Home had a few dates between Friday's update and the iTunes update again on Monday, and Outlook Calendar has all of my recurring dates (B-Days, etc.). They all show up on my iPhone but my Outlook Calendar now doesn't provide reminders in Outlook (depsite haveing reminders set). Also, as my events go past, they automatically go away from Calendar but still show up on my iPhone and in my Outlook Today overview pane. Any ideas/help!!!
Ok, I just got off the phone with iphone support. They wanted me to try going into iTunes and resetting the sync history list. They said that if that didn't work, then we should try uninstalling iTunes 7.7 completely and reinstall it. This is actually for my boss's phone/pc so I won't have a chance to try this till later. Anyone else wanna try this and post their results? I'll keep you posted on what happens with my go at it.
