    I was going through the Restore perpetual loop last night. Talked to Apple support who told me to try again in the morning because many others were having this problem.

    It worked fine this morning and the phone is no longer a brick.

    I thought everything was going fine until I got to a point where it appeared to be checking the I-Tunes store and would eventually give me an error message. I just kept unplugging and plugging back into my Mac so it would try again. Eventually it connected and everything went fine.

    No Problems for me! It got stuck a few times getting into the iTunes Store but it synced up and is working fine. There will probably still be a few glitches here and there. Remember that this was a World Wide launch. That's a lot of downloads!

    When I sync my iphone it tells me that I already have the latest update. Can someone please tell me where to go to upgrade to 2.0? Tried yesterday and got the same thing. HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!

    It depends on what syncing options you are using with the computer you are doing the update on.

    If you sync all your information with that computer, it just backs up the camera roll, call log, SMS messages, and a few other things.

    If you only sync some data with that computer it backs up everything except music and videos.

    I am having the same issue. I click "Check for Update" in Itunes and it says that I am current with 1.1.4. Where do I find 2.0 ???

    NO! I can not get it to complete the download. The download starts and after downloading about 60 MBs it stops and tells me the network connection timed out. The message also says "Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, or try again later."
    Can any one help with this please?

    I'm having this same issue. Do I need to increase my download bandwidth? Can't seem to get any help with this issue. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get around this issue.

    Is there another place that we can get the software?

    It's a 2 step process..

    In iTunes, the pull down menu will check for iTunes updates.

    Then.. in the middle of the same iTunes screen - in the "Version" part there is another "Check for IPHONE updates to the right. Click on that.

    Good luck!

    Reggie, at least I'm not alone. I tried to download v2 using WinXP and VMFusion but got the same result as well as trying to download from two iMacs and a MBP. Just won't have it. If you have any luck please let me know, in the mean time is there anybody out there who can help with this?

    I updated at midnight in CA. Took about 20 minutes or so and no problems. Downloaded an app and everything. : )

    Success here also! Two sentences of caution however. This update takes a LONG TIME. Please be patient and DO NOT remove or disconnect your iPhone.

    P.S. For those looking for the update on the Apple web site, it is NOT there as of today. You must go to iTunes with your phone docked and in the summary section, check for updates and then get a sandwich, watch a movie or read the papers for the update to install!
