I am having the same problem.... I have tried every suggetion listed so far and nothing has worked. I put in the 4 digit code and itunes says it can now be remote controlled but my iphone says cannot find library after a minute or so of searching. The app worked on a laptop also on my home wifi, but not on my desktop for some reason. Any solutions for this yet?

Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to work on Leopard. I have tried the firewall stuff, and also verified that both the iTunes machine and the iPod Touch are on the same subnet but no dice regardless of what level of firewall protection I use. Now trying on my wife's MacBook...works on her's. Is this an issue with Library size? Her library is empty but mine is 175 GB in size. Is this the issue? Or the external drive issue mentioned in a previous post? Is Apple monitoring this forum??

its got to be an external harddrive issue.. my external hd with my itunes library on it is connected via airport extreme and i have a feeling that the general lag in my itunes when double clicking songs and the sometimes interruption has something to do with the fact that my remote recognizes my library long enough to enter the pass code, but thats it... it does not load the library... it has to be an external hd connected via wifi proble,

I wish someone from Apple would comment here. The information in the support KB is useless in this case and it is highly frustrating to have paid for the iPod Touch 2.0 upgrade for this remote capability and to find that it doesn't work 😟
It would be hard to believe if it was because of an external HDD as most of us that work with a laptop are going to put our iTunes Library on an external drive so we leave a maximum of space on the MBP for work stuff.

Re: Intel issue or size of library issue.

I have zero problems with my Intel Mac, and my Library is 3 times your size (550 GB).

When it works, and you say you CAN pair, when you choose a song on your touch to play, it'll create a playlist on your Mac called "remote" and play the song from there. The REVERSE is (and this is something you can test), when you are paired, and you play a song on your Mac, that song should show up on your IPT. If you haven't tried that (which I'm sure you have), then maybe that's a way to "fool" them into connecting with each other.

Otherwise, it sounds as if it's a security issue on THAT Mac (as opposed to your macbook)

Edit:
Sorry, I thought you were the one who said they could enter the codes and get them to say they were paired; ignore me. ;o)

re: External Harddrive

In my previous post, I mention that I have an Intel Mac with a library larger than yours, and experience no problems, but on that computer I don't have an external harddrive.

Just now, I tested it out at work on a PC with the songs on an external harddrive, and again had no problem.

But here's another idea: is your library file (your database) on the external harddrive, or is it on the Mac? I can see the IPT having a hard time sucking in the library if it has to wake up your drive move it across USB, if that's what it's doing, but maybe if this is the problem, you can just move the library to your Mac (there's no need for the library file to be on the external harddrive).

Possibly?

I made my Time Capsule the unique router for all my wifi and ethernet connections and the iTunes Remote still gives me a "Cannot find library" error. Not sure what else to try. As previously mentioned, I have the latest iTunes, the latest Remote software on my iPod Touch with 2.0 software, latest firmware on the Time Capsule, latest patches for 10.5.4 on the MacBook Pro...and all the recommended settings for sharing, et.
Any other suggestions?
