mines is working fine, try restarting itunes and your phone. make sure the 4 digit # that yur phone gives yu, yu put into yur itunes remote device. it should link.
I also am having the same problem. I can enter my 4 digit code... and then it will not connect to the library. What gives? Anyone successfully fix this problem?
try remote controling itunes installed in another computer. the iphone gives option to control more libraries. that would narrow down if problem is with that first library / computer.
have you tried pressing play in tunes via the computer then try and use the iPhone as a remote that worked for me and to me it works best if you have a wifi network at you home
Try changing your firewall setting ( Sys prefs -> Security) to allow all incoming traffic. If that works then modify your firewall by adding iTunes to specific apps under 'Set access for specific......'
This is on a Mac, windows users it seems a similar approach can work, but I don't know the specifics for adding iTunes to your firewall listing.
Turned my firewall off - and still nothing. Could it be that its not working because I have my itunes library stored on an external hard drive? Its connected - but could that be a reason this will not work?
I have a first-generation iPhone, Version 2.0 software installed. Remote installed also.
When I invoke Remote on the iPhone, it gives me a 4-digit number for use when starting iTunes on my Mac. However, when I start iTunes, I don't see anywhere to insert that code. There is no iPhone item under Devices until I place the iPhone in its cradle. Even when in its cradle, there seems no choice under the iPhone drop-down to insert a code number.
My iPhone is connected via wifi, my Mac is wired to the same Internet gateway.
you need to have you dock to the computer then in iTunes there will be two decivces that show up and click on the bottom one and it will have the screen to enter the code into.
