Wallpaper Does Not Change iphone 3g??

Same here. Brand new 3g 8gb, Synched a photo, tried to set it as wallpaper both in the settings app and in the photos app, but it just won't change.

I just tried it on my 16 gb 3g and it changed fine. Have you tried to restart it?

Make sure the phone is not plugged in to your computer/charger. My 16GB seems to not display any wallpaper, unless it's on battery. I know this may be silly, but it took me quite some time to figure that out. :-/

I know someone who has updated the 1st gen iPhone to the 2.0 and they said it's laggy as well. I have not experienced the previous version, so I do not know for sure.

ii have the exact same problem .. i have a bran new 16gb iphone 3g and the wallpaper wont set for springboard. I will change for the unlock screen, but the background stays black for the home screen. any ideas? ?!!

The wallpaper for the iPhone is ONLY for the unlock screen. No image will display behind the icons of your home screen.

Press the button on the top of the phone to make it go black. Press Home button to get access -Does the wallpaper show on the unlock screen? Well, that's it. It does not go behind the icons on the home screen; the wallpaper only lives on the Unlock screen.

This is a pity to me. Wallpaper should be available for the home screen and for each screen with icons. Also someone should be able to write apps that customize the icons without jailbreaking the phone.

ug really? thats ********! It wasnt like that on the 1st gen iphones.. any reason? heh (or atleast im pretty sure it's not.. i know people with fully legit locked and not jailborken 1st gens and they ahve backgrounds, i had oen on mine...)

Yes, it was like that on the 1st gen iPhones (got one right here). There are a lot of "themes" out there that require users to alter their phones, but none of those work on a standard iPhone.
