apps on iphone not showing in itunes

If you downloaded some apps, they should show up in your Library Applications selection. When your iPhone is connected, select the phone and check the Applications tab in the main library window. You should see your apps there. Try a manual sync of just the apps from the Application window. Your Apps will show up individually on the phone. I had to play around with mine a little to get them on the Phone. Now they are working fine. You can add or take them away by turning the checks on and off and syncing. I've got nearly a dozen Apps I downloaded directly from App Store on the phone, and 5 I grabbed through iTunes. Right now, the only ones showing in the Applications tab within iTunes are those 5 I grabbed through the iTunes App Store.

Near as I can tell, the Applications tab only shows the stuff downloaded from the App Store within iTunes. My gut feeling is that at some point in the near future, Apple will add an option to download Apps from phone option, in the same way you can download music that you purchased on your phone.

Go to FILE-TRANSFER PURCHASES FROM iPHONE. That got them there for me. I used to have a dialogue window that popped up saying there were purchased items on the iPhone and would I like to transfer them. I disabled that because I thought that would make it do it automatically. However, that wasn't the case. Now, I wish I could get that dialogue window option back. Anyone know how?

I have the same problem occurring. Apps downloaded on the phone, do not get transferred to itunes. Itunes says "Backing up iphone" every time it syncs, but no Apps are copied from the phone to itunes.

When I choose File-Transfer Purchases from iphone, it either fails, for get's stuck on the first App.

Looks like there's a bug here??

I had exactly the same problem. I purchased with my iPhone but they wouldn't appear in iTunes. However if you do File>Transfer Purchases from iTunes it should work, bear in mind that the first few times I tried it, it either didn't work or got stuck on a particular application and wouldn't finish. I had to try about 5 or 6 times to get it to finally work.

If you notice the warnings about already purchased, it mentions that downloading them again, unlike music or videos, does not charge you.

Which application is it hanging on while transferring purchases?

Someone in this thread noted that you can get it back by control-clicking on your iPhone in the Devices list in iTunes and selecting "Reset Warnings".

This worked for me, as well as the tip about control clicking on the device and resetting warnings. Now I have to restore my iPhone, so hopefully these steps have saved me.

Just in case this helps someone else looking here, I used Transfer Purchases maybe 10 times and it never showed the Application folder in iTunes, but never hung or locked up or gave any messages. Went into Preferences and noticed that there was a check box in there to show applications (General tab, under "Show"). The applications where in there once I showed the item in the library.

This was a fresh install of my entire system and the apps where purchases on my iPhone.
