I didn't notice it until tonight (just after having the phone for 7 hours and driving 70 miles back home from the nearest Apple store), but there is definitely a dead pixel in the upper left quadrant of my new iPhone. It's not completely dead, but it's like an inversion of the "should be" color. Will Apple replace this or am I hosed?

Just called the closest store...they're "not sure" if they have replacement "parts" or not. I asked them what is there to be "not sure" about? Either they have replacements or they don't. It's pretty friggin' simple. It's also annoying how they refer to it as a replacement "part" - what we're talking about here is a new phone altogether, right?
Has anyone replaced their iPhone 3G because of dead pixels? I am going tonight I have one dead pixel and it is only noticable when I watch videos but it drives me nuts. Also, I am assuming that the phone will be replaced with a new phone and not a refurbished one? Does anyone know?
My 3G iphone had a dead pixel, I took it back to the store and although they had a sign that mentioned they where sold out of iphones, they had brand new phones which came in a different box which where being used as replacements.
a good way to check after you pick up a new one is to immediately download the "light" application (the one that turns your phone into a flashlight). i imagine it would make a dead pixel rather obvious.
The first phone i got had a dead pixel right in the middle. luckily i noticed in line while he was activating. I waited in like 26 hours so i was not about to be given a messed up phone. They replaced it right then no problem!
i just bought the 8GB 3G and i have what looks like a speck of dust under my glass also. i also seem to have a stuck pixel toward the top of my screen. i bought my phone at the AT&T store. i was actually planning on trading it in anyway for a 16GB, within the 30 day exchange period, but since finding these flaws i may take it back for that, and then get it exchanged for the 16GB. i went by the store today to see if any were in stock at all and was told "not any time soon." i hate that response. so if i take my phone back for a defect, what happens, since they are out of stock? guess we'll find out...
I took mine back tonight. Despite the store being "out of stock" on all models, it appeared that they had considerable amounts of replacement stock...brown boxes that only contain headsets. I did a quick test in store and this screen looks A-OK!
Can u return. The iPhone back to a ATT store or do i have to go to apple. And also how long does this iphone have warranty is it one year .. I have 3 or 4 stuck pixels cause they go away and come back.. Cause last year i had bad times exchanging my iphone I had dead pixels and bubbles under screen and evertime i would trade one in it would be as bad or worse..SO at the end i stayed with one that had only 1 stuck pixel.
