no WiFi signal on iPhone V2

Updated to V2 of the iPhone software (original 16GB phone) without any problem BUT now my Wifi reception is poor to non existent. Using hotel and other wireless routers (unknown brands and types) . Where before it was a booming signal, now it shows weak and constantly reverts to Edge or drops altogether. My MacBook sitting right next to the phone using the same router shows a strong signal and no problems.

Software V2 really screwed up the WiFi capability of the phone! Any solutions found so far?

I have an original iphone (8 gig). Just after the upgrade to 2.0, my wifi performance became real poor. I have an amplified antenna. Right now I'm sitting two feet away from my router and I'm on edge!! I have tried the following to try to fix the problem; Hard reset of the iphone router and cable modem, Switched out routers (I have a spare), I also previously tried erasing my router info on the iphone and re-created by routers info on the iphone. When the iphone discovers my network, the display shows a full strength signal! After booting up Safari and requesting a web page, the iphone drops to Edge and will not switch back. Other devices on my network are running fine. This problem also occurs at work. I'm not sure if this connected, but I have noticed noticeable drop in performance in the iphone overall. For example; while in ipod mode, I can hit the home button and there is a about a 3-4 second lag. Now granted that's not much time, but before it was instant. Any ideas?? I really miss my performance.

I had a similar problem but was able to fix it by performing the following steps:

1)turn off security on your router (just temporarily)
2)force the iPhone to reconnect to the non-secured network
3)verify that you are able to connect to the internet
4)re-enable security on your router
5)reconnect the iPhone

I have no idea why this works, but it did. I'm using a WPA-PSK/TKIP network.

I find that the wifi connection drops randomly without reconnecting. While at home, my device drops the wifi, connects to edge and never reconnects to wifi; even with me standing next to my wireless router. I hope there is a fix otherwise I will downgrade back to 1.1.4.

I also find that my cell signal has degraded significantly since my upgrade to 2.0

2.0 killed Wi-Fi for me. I tried removing Remote.app and that did nothing.

Here is what I see on my iPhone:
First I go to Settings -> Wi-Fi
Then I turn on Wi-Fi
Choose a Network... appears and is sometimes blank (with only the Other... options shown) and sometimes has a network or two showing. When a network or two does appear it can be selected and the checkmark (that indicated the network is selected) will appear, but then the checkmark will dissappear shortly afterwards and often quite soon after that the networks will all dissappear.

I have reset the network settings and I guess the next step is to do a restore to see if that helps. I am trying to connect to my Airport Extreme base station, but the same results happen no matter where I try to connect.
