iPhone 2G Firmware 2.0 Restore Error 6 Recovery Success
Symptom:
iPhone updating hangs at the beginning of restore after successfully prepping the firmware 2.0 update and the phone. Interrupting restore gives an error dialog proclaiming unknown error 6 has occurred.
Configuration:
PowerPPC dual g4 mirror door with eSata and Firewire + USB 2.0 cards added
Leopard, iTunes 7.7, iPhone Firmware 2.0
iPhone connected to Sonnet USB 2.0 port
Corrective action:
Move iPhone to main board USB 1.0 port to restore firmware. Move back to Sonnet USB 2.0 port to sync.
