NZ phone number format and address

I have noticed that the phone number format and default address lines for New Zealand are incorrect. When you add a new contact the address format default to the US. When you add a land line number instead of defaulting to two digits and then the phone number (09 123 4567) it defaults to 3 digits (061 234 567).
Can this be changed?
I'm using the 3g Iphone.

Something doesn't sound right? I am from NZ and I know that there are problems with our number formats, but those problems are largely aesthetic, and there is also a problem with 10 digit numbers (not including country code or dialing prefixes) not registering on Caller ID properly.

Back to your problem, for a start, the country code for NZ is 64, not 61. I think the problem relates to the way you are entering your numbers into your phone and it sounds like you are trying to call New Zealand from the UK but you are not using the correct international format.

If the number you are trying to dial is given to you as (09) 123 4567, then the local dialing code is 0, the area code is 9, and the number is 123 4567.

Ignore the dialing code, and place +64 in front of the area code and number.

The number you need to enter into your phonebook is +64 9 123 4567

I'm not sure if this is the problem you are having but I hope it helps.
