Forgot to mention that you CAN burn the i-tunes files to CD in their protected AAC/MP4 format, then re-import them to your computer FROM the CD and tell i-tunes to import them as MP3 files. This is a roundabout way to do it and you might suffer some loss of audio quality but it will work and give you an MP3 file. You can try to limit your loss of audio quality when re-importing by setting the import bit rate at really high level (e.g., 192 or better, in the Import preferences box). This will make the final MP3 file a bit larger but it will hopefully make the sound better. Hope this helps some, sorry I didn't think about it when I posted my initial answer.
