GPS not working with iPhone 3G

I'm having the same issue, but with 2 iPhones.

are you outside, out in the open, with an unobstructed view of the sky? GPS uses satellites and requires line of sight

Did you go to settings, general and TURN ON location services?

Even though I turned on the Location Service, the GPS is not located where I was.
mm... It might be a bug ?

Both phones have location turned on and I have sat outside all morning with no success. Since this isn't working, all programs that use location assist cannot find me.

Same problem here.. reset the phone.. stood (clear site) outside but neither triangulation nor GPS will work.. those associated apps do not work either..

BTW.. I have the white 16GB model.. anyone else?

I have network problems with my 16Gb iPhone 3G.

I'm starting to think these white ones are defective.

Same problem here tried loads of things - updated the firmware, turned off 3G, restored etc - even right now at 2am with the sky clear - 20 mins outside and still nothing - Going to return it.

My partner just got home.. his model (8GB) is doing the same thing.. however, it worked last night in the office.. Hmmm?

GPS seems to be working pretty flawlessly for me on my iPhone 3G. I took a couple of walks, and it could place me within meters of my actual location.

It takes awhile to actually load.. I just had it on Edge network (believe it or not) and i got the location (about 4 miles off mind you) and it wasnt exact, im trying with 3G but doesnt work, and GPS? is that even in this Jessus phone? It seems its hibernating somewhere in the features i guess, because no one can get it, including me... so just try to wait i guess?

I am having a similar problem.

When I am connected to my AEBS at home and ask Google Maps to locate me it says that I am just outside of Baltimore. Which is odd because I am in Minneapolis. My AEBS was purchased in Minnesota and has never left the state. However, when I turn WiFi off and ask it to locate me, GPS accurately does so. Strange.

Having a similar problem here. I bought mine on Friday and the GPS worked fine until this morning, but now Google Maps refuses to get a GPS lock and when it does get a partial lock it tells me that I'm in Stamford, CT. Which is a long way from Memphis, TN.

ugh, i set it to search for me like 20 minutes ago with 3g.. and it just beeped at me.. still no blue circle.. worked better on EDGE than the 3G..

.. it actually found me.
