Can I remove pre-installed apps (iPhone 2.0)

I'm never going to use stock and a few others. I did the hold till they shake trick, but these don't get a "x". Does this mean I have no way o removing these unwanted apps? I am so used to customising Apple stuff it would seem strange not being able to custiomise my iPhone!

Sorry, can 't be done. All you can do is slide them to another page.

Id love to have the answer to this one too! Stocks, weather (now that 2.0 is out and weatherbug is around, who needs the built in one?) youtube, and the iTunes button (i use itunes, but from my computer, no need for it on my phone) are all ones Id be really truly happy to get rid of. For now I just moved em off to a "dead" screen menu so I dont see them unless I purposely scroll for them.
