APPS Don't Work - Error 0xE8000013

ipod touch 32 gig.

Upgrade to 2.0 went cleanly. Restore of my data after upgrade was painful, failed four times and finally completed on the fifth time.

Tried downloading and installing apps directly on the unit. Seemed to work fine, but applications don't run. Screen goes black with top clock bar for about 5 seconds then returns to desktop.

Tried downloading apps via itunes (7.7.0.43) and when I go to sync them to the ipod, I get an error saying the "The application was not installed because an unknown error occured (0xE8000013)

Anyone have any ideas how tyo clear error E8000013 and get apps to run on this ipod touch?

How do you delete the apps from iTunes and re-download without paying for them again?

Assuming you are logged into the iTunes store with the same account it should let you re-download them for free.

I've deleted an app. then downloaded it again and the message comes up "You have already purchased this item. To download it again for free select OK".

SOLVED!

Delete apps from itunes, including all files.
Force sync.
disconnect ipod and power down.
restart ipod
exit itunes
restart itunes
download apps again.
resync with ipod.

I think you can also solve it by simply de-selecting syncing of the apps. in the Applications tab in iTunes when the touch is connected, let the touch sync and it'll remove the apps. from the touch. Then re-select the apps. in the Application tab and sync again.

It worked for me when I had an update that caused that error (I just de-selected the offending app. from syncing rather than all, then re-synced).
